- Do you like to travel and meet new people?
If you answer “yes" to many of these questions, you are an ideal candidate to serve as an Ambassador for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Each spring semester the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences recruits students to become Ambassadors. An individual must submit a completed application, attend the informational ambassador reception (March 25th at 5:30 pm in the Biotech Interaction Court), and be interviewed by the current Ambassadors and advisors. From those who have submitted an application and been interviewed, qualified candidates will be asked to join the program.
Complete the (application form) and return it to Ag. Science Room 40 or email it Rachel Halsey (rmlorenz@uidaho.edu) by 5 pm on March 26th 2009. Applicants will be notified if they have been chosen for an interview the following week.
The time commitment/duties required of CALS Ambassadors include:
FALL SEMESTER (2 credits)
- 6 High School Class Visits
- Attend all weekly meetings
- Attend the following events:
- Retreat (Aug. 28-30, 2009)
- CALS Back to School Picnic (September)
- AG DAYS (Sept or October)
- Ice Cream Social (October)
SPRING SEMESTER (1 Credit)
- 3 High School Class Visits
- Attend all weekly meetings
- Participate in calling admitted students for 2 hours
- All newly selected ambassadors will be required to participate in the College Ambassador Training Program.
- Attend the following events:
- UI CALS & CNR Career Fair (February)
- Vandal Friday (Last Friday of March)
- One other event throughout the semester. Events TBD in January 2010.
