3. Is fruit juice good for you?

Not all fruit juice is nutritious.

There are different kinds of fruit juices: grape juice, orange juice, mixed berry, and apple juice for example. Some juices have more nutrients than others. You need to read the product labels. Offering children juice throughout the day will provide calories between meals that may result in less interest in food at meals. Also, not all juices provide nutrients. If juice is offered to children, offer 100% fruit juice and limit offering no more than 6 ounces of juice per day. If a child is thirsty, be sure to have water readily available as well.
