"Beetle" Bill celebrates 90
William "Beetle Bill" F. Barr celebrated his 90th birthday at an October 20th CALS reception honoring the University of Idaho emeritus professor of entomology. Barr "ushered in the era of entomology at the University of Idaho when he arrived her in 1947," praised James B. "Ding" Johnson, head of the college's Department of Plants, Soil, and Entomological Sciences. Barr hired Johnson. Under his tenure, the UI's entomological museum named for Barr grew to more then a million specimens.
