Wheat Curl Mite
Aceria tosichella Keifer

Microscopic, white, spindle-shaped mite; all stages found in curled leaf margins, unopened leaves, between sheaths, etc. Primarily of importance because it vectors wheat streak mosaic virus, which reduces yields. Large numbers sucking plant sap can cause curled, rolled, or trapped leaves. Host plants: cereals, corn, tulips, onions, garlic, wheatgrass, other grasses.
