CALS Administrative Services (CAS) supports seven college departments, three University of Idaho Extension offices, two administrative units, ten Research and Extension Centers, and forty-two county offices located throughout Idaho.

CALS has one very vital process that cannot be stressed enough: ALL problems, questions, concerns are to come through the CALS Administrative Services Office. Due to the size and complexity of the college, communication and process flow must be coordinated. The CAS team provide that coordination.

Under the guidance of experienced consultants, and with the help of everyone who provided information through the position description questionnaires and related communications, our Department of Human Resources has developed a set of twelve classification levels with associated salary range projections. Over time, these classification levels and ranges will provide a foundation for improving staff compensation at the University of Idaho. But we candidly acknowledge, as we must, that our rate of progress will depend upon the economy, upon student enrollments, and upon actions by the goverment.

The job description portal is available by loging on to Vandal Web - http://vandalweb.uidaho.edu and is located under the Employee Menu tab. Within the Employee Menu tab scroll down to Employee Information and you should see PDQ to Job Description. Click on that link and choose the job you are updating the job description for.
Key things to remember on your job description: Working Title is a mutually agreed upon title between you and your supervisor. If you would like this title listed in the directory be sure to click the Working Title box under Choose Title to Display in Campus Directory. Percentage of Time must equal 100% whether you are a full-time or part-time employee. The 100% represents the time spent overall on that specific duty regardless of the amount of hours spent. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions are fields that need to be addressed especially by those in the field and/or laboratory. These must be tied to the essential functions of the position.
