Lindy
Seip
Home state: Wisconsin
Position: Scientific
Aide
E-mail: lseip@uidaho.edu
Phone: 208.885.4266
Lindy spends most of her time in the
Oilseed Chemistry lab preparing and analyzing samples from the
breeding program for quality characteristics such as percent oil,
fatty acid profile and glucosinolate content. Most of the
breeding and variety test samples need to have some type of
quality testing done, particularly oil quantity and quality, so
the work we do in the lab is essential for selecting new cultivars
with the desired end-use quality. In addition, Lindy helps
out with planting, harvest and other field work during the growing
season. Originally from Wisconsin (Go Packers!), she worked
in programs in Colorado and Nebraska and has settled in the
Potlatch area.
