Outstanding Staff Awards
Outstanding Staff Awards:
The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Outstanding Staff Award recognizes outstanding performance of staff duties, based on support from students, unit administrators, colleagues, peers, alumni, or others.
Awards will be given in four categories:
- Office Support Staff
- Technical/Lab Support Staff
- Service/Maintenance Support Staff
- Program Management/General College Management Support Staff
Nominee must hold a board appointed classified staff, exempt/administrative position within the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences for a minimum of three years. Post-doctoral students do NOT qualify for this award.
Office Support Staff includes all employees who provide office support within a department or unit. Category would include administrative assistants, office specialists, records specialists, financial technicians and similar positions.
Technical/Lab Support Staff includes all employees who provide general technical support within a department or unit. Category would include scientific aids, senior scientific aids, chemists, research technicians, laboratory technicians, and technical aids and similar positions.
Service/Maintenance Support Staff includes all employees who provide general service and maintenance support within a department or unit. Category would include farm assistants, maintenance craftsperson’s, mechanics, utility craftsperson’s, and ground maintenance workers and similar positions.
Program Management/General College Management Support Staff includes all employees who provide department or unit program management or management support functions at the college level. Category would include research support scientists, extension support scientists, operations supervisors, management assistants, executive assistant, financial analyst, web master, or other staff and non-faculty exempt positions in a management role and similar positions.
Nominee may not have received a College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Outstanding Staff Award within the last three years.
Selection Criteria:
Selection of the Outstanding Staff Awards will be based on the following:
- excellence in productivity
- quality of work
- initiative
- dependability
- judgment
- interpersonal relations
